How has being a Mathematics graduate from Duke helped shape your professional success?

"Duke's Math department not only equipped me with the skills I need to succeed in a complex and fast paced financial environment — from analytical and problem solving skills to modeling and data analysis — but it also helped me see the world differently, asking questions and thinking about solutions rather than seeing barriers."

What advice would you give students in Mathematics?

"Professors in the math department are all working on really cool things from pure math concepts like number theory and differential geometry to applied work in mathematical biology, Astrophysics and computational sciences. Look into the work their doing and find where your interests lie because there are lots of opportunities for you to get your foot and start doing original research in the field if you take the initiative."
