How has being a Mathematics graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"Being a Mathematics major at Duke was the first step on my career path to being a professor. I learned to idolize professors, love the challenge of hard problems, and deeply value teaching and learning."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Mathematics programs?

"Try courses on topics that you have no idea about, not only in mathematics but in other disciplines at Duke. Get involved in a research project; there are lots of opportunities at Duke. It may change your life!"
