The Math Department operates several Help Rooms to provide assistance to students in first-year courses. Students are invited to drop by the Help Rooms whenever they are open. No appointment is necessary.
Who Staffs the Help Rooms?
All teachers and lab assistants in MATH 105L/106L Laboratory Calculus & Functions I and II, MATH 111L/112L Laboratory Calculus I and II, and MATH 122L Introductory Calculus II with Applications participate in the "L" Help Room.
The MATH 202/212 Help Room and MATH 221 Help Room are staffed by tutors hired by the Math Department.
Want to Work as a Math Tutor?
If you would like to receive email notification when the Math Department begins organizing MATH 202/212 and MATH 221 Help Room schedules, please fill out out the Contact List Form. You only need to fill out the form once, unless your information changes. We strongly recommended this for all students with interest in Help Room positions.
If you would like to be considered for a position in one or more of the Help Rooms, specifically for the coming term, please fill out the Application Form. You are required to fill out a new application each semester because it includes questions about scheduling preferences.
Some terms, the Academic Resource Center hosts directed study groups for certain math courses. Here is the page listing those schedules.
Private "peer tutors" are also available in some terms for some math courses. Here is the page for more information. Note, these tutors are available first-come-first-serve.
