Help, Tutoring & Mentoring

We want you to succeed in Math! And we realize that sometimes, it can get tough. For those times – or just to stay on top or ahead of the game – we recommend you engage one or more of our Math Help & Tutoring options. Here, you can work faculty, advisors and peers to fine-tune your skills and keep you on the right path.

Help Rooms

We operate Help Rooms for Calc I and II and office hours for as well to  provide support for those in first-year courses. Students are invited to drop by the Help Rooms and Office Hours whenever they are open/available.

Math Major Advisors

All majors and minors have a Math faculty advisor who can help guide them through the curriculum.

SAGE-Math

Through the Academic Resource Center, Math study groups are available to any student looking for additional assistance in certain math courses. 

Private Tutoring

Our department maintains a list of graduate and undergraduate students who offer their services as private tutors.

Peer Tutoring

The Academic Resource Center offers peer tutoring each semester to undergraduates who are in enrolled in select introductory-level Math courses.

Math Mentoring for Women

The Math Mentoring program connects women first-years with an interest in mathematics with undergraduate mentors and mathematics faculty.

Student-Athlete Academic Support

Providing tutoring and mentoring, this program helps student-athletes find and maintain a balance between the demands of athletics and academics, and prepare them for “life after sport.”

Lab TAs

Undergraduate students have the opportunity to teach students and facilitate group work in Lab Calculus classes.  Lab TAs also work in the Help Room tutoring students.
