Seminars

Members of the RTG participate regularly in a variety of seminars, especially those series listed below.   Each semester, the RTG seminars and activities will focus on a different research theme, exposing students and postdocs to a wide range of topics at the forefront of research in applied math, analysis, probability, and computation.

Thematic Semesters, Minicourses:

Fall 2021: PDE of Fluid Dynamics

Spring 2022: Inverse Problems and Imaging

Fall 2022: Stochastic Analysis

Spring 2023: Stochastic Analysis

Fall 2023:  Mathematical Biology

Applied Math & Analysis Seminar

The Applied Math and Analysis seminar typically meets on Tuesdays at 3:15pm.   It covers a broad range of topics including numerical analysis, ordinary and partial differential equations, nonlinear systems, scientific computing, dynamical systems theory, mathematical biology, pattern formation, and complex physical systems.

Probability Seminar

The Probability seminar typically meets on Thursdays at 3:15pm.  It covers a range of topics in probability, including interacting particle systems, stochastic dynamical systems and differential equations, random growth models, and various applications.

Mathbio Seminar

The Mathbio seminar typically meets on Fridays at noon.   It covers a broad range of topics at the intersection of mathematical modeling and biology.

Professional Development Seminar

The Professional Development program is devoted to helping students and postdocs learn about and prepare for careers in academia, industry and government, and to apply for those jobs.
