How has being a Mathematics graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"Being a Mathematics graduate has helped my professional work in many ways. The skills needed to write a complete and correct proof directly transfer to writing high-quality code and debugging issues. I also rely on my Mathematics education heavily when learning about the latest AI and ML advancements - concepts from algebra and statistics underlie these technologies, so having a strong math background makes understanding these technologies considerably easier."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Mathematics programs?

"For those early in the major, I'd encourage them to stay the course. I found some of the 200 level courses to be some of the more difficult courses in the major. These courses are difficult, but they are also foundational to the major."
