How has being a Mathematics graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"I think being a mathematics graduate is a generally intellectually rigorous field that has helped me grow intellectually as well as signal that to prospective employers."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Mathematics programs?

"Be open to job possibilities - employers tend to like math degrees even if the job isn't directly relevant. Try to build for yourself a clear curriculum with a good sequence to learn that math that you want to learn - the major can easily become very disjointed if you don't have a plan for which classes you can take."
