How has being a Mathematics graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"My first real teaching experience in English was at Duke. I am currently a freelance Maths teacher in London and definitely teaching at Duke has helped me significantly. My very first exposure into teaching and acquiring some key insights into my strengths as a teacher, areas to work on as well as understanding what makes the students tick!!"

What advice would you give students in Duke's Mathematics programs?

"There is a wealth of resources in the department or in the university at large. Make full usage of them. I learned tons of interesting Maths during my Masters and also discovered plenty of very interesting books in the libraries that only a major university can provide. Work / life balance is also key!"
